According to Forbes.com’s recent article, Salt Lake City has taken first place for best city for jobs. Forbes measured this result testing the following: the state’s unemployment rate, job growth, income growth, median household income and cost of living for full-year 2006 (only partial data is available so far for 2007). The nice part about this is that Salt Lake City has taken home this award two years in a row from Forbes.

As we had written in a previous article on UtahLuxury.com, the market for real estate in Utah took second in the Provo, Orem area. The reason? Utah continues to grow as an economy. With companies finding inexpensive areas of operation throughout the state, it is also cheaper to run your organization in Utah. One of the largest sectors for growth is in the tech industry. Of the leading employers in Utah is a company called IM (Intel Micron) Flash technologies. IMF has been creating memory for devices such as the iPod and memory for computers. They are also working on creating a hard drive that would be the size of a memory stick. As IMF continued to grow through 2007, the surrounding areas such as Lehi, Highland, Alpine, and American Fork also saw strong numbers for sales in real estate.

It should also be noted here that Forbes also gave Provo, UT second place for best places for business and careers. As a synopsis, Utah is ranking very well stretching from Ogden (11th place winner) all the way to Provo (2nd place). With the high demands for employees, real estate and being one of the safest places in the nation to live, Utah is now a highly favored destination.
