4.

Q: What is this RSS / Subscribe thing?
A: Feeds, also known as RSS feeds, XML feeds, syndicated content, or web feeds, contain frequently updated content published by a website. They are usually used for news and blog websites, but are also used for distributing other types of digital content, including pictures, audio or video.

A feed can have the same content as a webpage, but it’s often formatted differently. Published in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format, RSS is an easy way for you to keep up with current information without having to use the conventional methods of browsing or continuously searching for the latest information.

5.

Q: How do I subscribe?
A: RSS allows the content and information you are interested in to be streamed or delivered directly into your browser or RSS reader application. When you subscribe, your reader will automatically check the website and download new content so you can see what is new since you last visited the feed.

There are many popular feed readers such as Google Reader, Newsfire, Newswire, Feedburner and the following type of sites are typically RSS enabled: Blogs (Web logs, diaries, or personal websites) News Services & Databases
