marveled at this years parade of homes in St. George for several reasons. First of all, the United States was hit with one of the worst recessions in US history leaving the economy bleak and feeling poor. Homes sales and construction starts around the country slid to some of the worst numbers on record. Secondly, St. George was always that quiet city you only stopped in for gas or stayed the night while "just passing through". It seemed as though this quiet town would always stay a quiet town. In recent years, many of those passer-throughs started to retire and found themselves looking for warm weather while retaining an active lifestyle. This brought a lot of attention to the area as it is the perfect place for an active adult lifestyle. Regardless of how bad off the economy was, it seemed as though people started looking for a place to settle down and St George was the place to do it.

What is so remarkable about the area that J2 chose for its parade home is the dramatic landscape. When you enter the community here in Kayenta, you feel as though you are entering a vast red desert filled with low lying plant life. You do not see the homes. The CC&R's are designed to keep it that way. The homes all blend in with the landscape and keep the natural landscape looking the way it has for millenniums. The homes all have a flat roof line and are a dark color to blend in with the plants. This gives a very strong contrast to the red cliffs in your backyard. Those cliffs are one of main reasons for living here. If you want to feel like there are no neighbors (even though there are loads of people living here) and you enjoy what nature provides in a desert landscape, look no further than Kayenta.

You easily go from one end of the home to the other without sacrificing luxury, views or comfort. The kitchen, my favorite part of any home, was a testament to how you should live in this home. Surrounding this kitchen were three separate covered patios, a dining room and a family room. Making this home a delightful retreat and a wonderful place to call home.
