The home is very large at over 7000 square feet with no upper or lower floors. Thats 7000 ft on one level!! To be honest the home did have a few steps up and down in a few places but it was to work the home into the landscape not to go up or down a level. The home spans in three different directions. All three directions are set to private views of the canyons. There are no visible neighbors. The view from the guest house is even amazing. The 7000 ft disappears as you pay attention to the views and the details.
One of the beauties that I mentioned above is that the home was built into a hillside. They did not tear away or destroy the natural landscape around the home to build it. I spoke with one of the subs on this project who told me of how hard it was too build this home. They could not use any trucks on the dirt after excavation was done. That means parking was on the street for everyone... including the concrete pumps. The pumps had to go all the way around the over 7000 square foot home to reach the pool in the backyard. They had to fill the foundation from the street. Lumber was parked in the street and everything had to be brought in from... you guessed it, the street.
After many difficult months and hard work, the joy and amazement start to set in. This home features a huge movie theater with a grand ceiling and huge sports bar with many TV's just outside the theater. I could imagine living in just this wing of the house. The home was designed with a Santa Fe style in mind. Dark wood tones paired with adobe clay looking walls, the furnishings with brilliantly placed accents, this home was made for the most discerning homeowner. The large rooms, the movie theater, the sports bar... this home is also an entertainers dream.
The master bedroom encompasses the side that has all of the canyon views. It also wraps around the beautiful pool in the backyard. The home office is just off of the master and could also be used a place of relaxation (the views from here are amazing too!)
I felt honored to be able to visit this home by myself with the many thousands waiting for the doors to open. Steve and Steve Docksteader crew did a beautiful job on this Southern Utah Mansion.
